Happy Birthday When the Smoke Clears

It’s Release Day!

Happy birthday to When the Smoke Clears! The release has truly been a whirlwind and the day has only just begun.

Thanks to your love and support, I nearly QUADRUPLED my preorders from book one! What?? I never expected that! Never. And that’s not including physical preorders. Complimentary ebook copies for the physical preorders have been sent, so if you did not receive them, please reach out! As soon as all the swag arrives, I’ll be mailing all of the goodies!

Bonus Chapter

Our first bonus chapter is here!

Make sure to read both books before diving into this one. Not only will it have spoilers, but it won’t make as much sense without the context.

As promised, this chapter gives a look at the conversation at Nana’s house between Stephanie and James that she alluded to. This is in James’ POV and if you’re like my beta readers, you’re going to eat it up! 🤭

Happy Birthday, Annie!

It’s also a really big day for fellow indie author, Annie Winston. She’s the author of my current read, Toughest Catch, book one of the Love Me Tender series. Book three, Tattered Edges is releasing on the 18th!

Jump over and give her some birthday love, and maybe find your next favorite book!

Author Spotlight

K.E. Monteith is a fellow author of open door, contemporary romance. Her upcoming novel, Snapshot Problems is Book 5 in the Snowfall Valley series. If you’re a lover of Grumpy/Sunshine and Single Dad, this one is for you! (I have it on good authority that the ARC application will be opening soon, too!)

Synopsis: After a disastrous breakup that ruptures her reputation in the art scene, Bailey is left with only one studio willing to show her work. That is if she follows the curator's exact and extravagant instructions and front all the production costs. As a single dad, Travis has everything under control, except for his son's behavior in school, which has caused such a ruckus that he might have to repeat the year.

When Travis and Bailey share their woes over drinks, they realize they can help each other out. Bailey can teach the kid art therapy to help with his behavior problems and Travis can pay. But as the hippie and uptight dad clash over parenting techniques, tensions rise. In more ways than one. And suddenly, art isn't the only thing making things messy.

Bookish Goodies

How do you feel about bookish candles? I was so excited to receive this box from Ashtyn Kiana, as I’d been considering adding character-inspired candles to upcoming PR boxes.

Two of the scents were inspired by the main characters in her debut novel, Always Been Yours! Genevieve Davies is a combination of sweet berries and vanilla. Grady Miller is an amber and driftwood mix.

No lies, I want to BATHE in Grady’s candle. It’s such a subtle, masculine scent. Seriously, yummy.

Two of the fragrances were inspired by A.K. Morgan’s latest release, Forever With You. Brooklyn Moore is a rose petal scent, and Lincoln Bates is a woodsy pine. I’m not usually a super fan of pine; it can be so overwhelming. But the woodsy undertone made it so enjoyable!

The final candle is a lovely author-inspired candle with a coffee fragrance. Did I light it right away? Yes, I did.

What do you think? Would you enjoy getting character specific candles?

Quick Reminder

If you’ve had a chance to read When the Smoke Clears, please consider leaving a review on Amazon and/or your favorite platform. Early reviews are incredibly important for small authors. If you haven’t had a chance to read yet, no worries. It’s not going anywhere. :)

Thanks again for an amazing release day!!

XOXO, Amanda
