When Sparks Fly updates and more!

Happy Tuesday!

I hope that you are all doing well, and staying safe and dry! Given recent and upcoming weather events, and their destruction, I want to start with a shoutout to those in the community who are organizing ways to help those in need.

Bookish Beauties

We live in the Florida panhandle, so we stayed dry during Helene and should do the same during Milton’s appearance. However, many around the nation have not been so lucky, including several in the bookish community. Thankfully, there are many groups dedicating time and resources to help raise funds or otherwise help those affected. One such group is NC Indies, a group of independent authors from North Carolina. They’re putting together an anthology and an auction to raise funds for various charities.

When Sparks Fly: The Fallout Duet Book 1

We are just over a month away from the release of When Sparks Fly, book one in The Fallout Duet! It’s been kind of fun thinking about what Maci and Sutton are experiencing right now, as their story is set in October and November of this year. In fact, Maci even quoted Queen Elizabeth II in her eulogy for Nana over the weekend.

She then went on to make some grief-and-alcohol-induced questionable decisions, after a fight with her mother. Those may or may not leave a mark. To be fair, I can relate to not handling things as well as I should when I’m emotional. Sometimes, you just want to unwind and let loose, without long-term ramifications hanging over your head.

BIG NEWS!! I got a look at the cover last week and it’s wonderful! Kim at KBG Designs worked so incredibly hard on it and it captures Maci & Sutton, and their story, so well. I can’t wait to share it with you!

Book two is about halfway complete! I have not kept it a secret that When Sparks Fly ends on a cliffhanger. The good news is that book two jumps right back in where we leave off in book one. More on that to come!
